Weddings Woes

Hi! Missed me? Maybe? I've missed you! I'll try and make more time to write. Promise. But, like, life and what not.

I want to preface all this with that this is THE most first world thing to bitch about ever. Okay? I understand. I get it. I'm gonna do it anyway.

Ya know, life stuff

So I got called out on not blogging much (at all) by TK. He wrote a great piece on designating the great white shark as California's official fish. I'm biased because I was quoted as being the genesis of the idea. My bias aside, any post that has a breaching great white shark with the caption, "California Motherfuckers!!!!!" is pretty awesome.

So...

...I got engaged. And below I'm gonna gush and talk about real life stuff. So. Ya know. Feel free to skip if you're not about the feeeeelings. Which I'm not even usually about.

Really Good at Life

I think when I was in college and lived alone, it never felt daunting or frustrating because I was young and dumb and acting on instinct. It's surprising how little you actually screw up when you act on instinct. (This is the same theory with which I credit my fairly young parents with not damaging either of us too horribly. They didn't have time to read Spock and shit, they just acted and Voila! I'm sure also aided by a ton of family nearby.)

Because HOLY CRAP am I bad at it now.

Adventures in Living Alone

Or: I am sometimes often a moron.

In case you were unaware, I moved out of SF. (More on why I'm pretty freaking okay with that another time.)

I am now residing in a Central Valley city that for work reasons I'll remain vague about, but basically: it's opposite SF, personality wise.

Wow, April (and also May)

Sorry for the extended writing absence. Even now I should be doing research and not writing but I'm sort of exhausted and my brain is in over-drive so here I am. A LOT has been going on. (And I started writing this post weeks ago and of course didn't finish so forgive the back tracking and then rambling as well.)
